Youth Group Wednesday!

Add to Memories Share
Yay finally youth group on Wednesday! It's a "Kick-Off-the-Summer-Party" at the Younkins' (Haley & Morgan's) house at 6:30 pm; and then Sunday night, there's Bible Study at 6:30, but it's at the youth office and will be there all summer. And in August Jay Hager is getting marriiiiied- but I'm getting ahead of myself. Anyway, just informing people, and if you would like to come to either of those, Lyssa or Danielle, I'd be happy to give you a ride. Er... well Andrea would probably be happy to drive us on Wed. night, I suppose, cuz the Younkins live kinda out there ^^. And Lyssa, I still wanna hang out before Wednesday, but I still haven't come up with anything. I'm thinking Tuesday after school (EARLY RELEASE!) though.

Actually, the waist sizes are from 29-38. So, again, if you have guys pants with waist sizes within that range, I would really appreciate them being given to me~! Thank you!

Oh first off, if anyone has GUYS JEANS with waist sizes anywhere from 28-34 and you don't want them anymore, give them to me because the Micah guys are in serious need of jeans and one of the missionaries that volunteers at the Micah Project (Jessica) is in town this week and I'm going to drop them off at the youth office at church. Furthermore, if you have ANY clothes you don't want anymore, also give them to me because Central is doing a clothes drive for the next 12 weeks for the people that live/work at the Tegucigalpa Dump, and I can drop those off at church on Sunday. (For Central-goers, they're collecting clothes in the Book Nook on Sunday morning fyi.)

Secondly, Damon asked how the Honduras Missions Lunch on Sunday was. :D You know it was awesome! Everyone did a wonderful job talking about the trip- Alex is always so articulate up in front of people, he talked about how lovinga nd open the Micah guys are, and about the thank-you ceremony the kids of Villa Linda Miller had for us the last day we were there ("We are the world...we are the children!") to work on the walls of their schoolbuilding and how Louis gave Alex a really sweet card in front of everybody and how he cried afterwards. I'm so happy that we were able to share the whole experience.

I talked last- and haha I'm laughing remembering this- I told everyone that I was looking forward to this trip since I got back from the first one, and I was so excited and then I got to the airport and I was overcome by fear because I was TERRIFIED about seeing everyone again. "Will they remember me? Will it be like last year? Have they changed a ton?" I kept thinking- and then we walked to the last room of the airport where the visitors stay and Olvin was the first one I saw, and he gave me a big hug and took my suitcase, grinned, and said "I've been waiting for you." Okay, so there are hundreds of people at this lunch, and there's a big "Awwww" from the crowd and I'm just like ohmygosh I just got "awww"-ed I'm kind of embarrassed now. But anyway, I just told everyone about how what an awesoem trip it was, and that I never ceased to be amazed at God's love. When most people come back, they keep saying "I want to go back, I don't belong here!" but that's not true. And I went on to say that God works just as obviously here and there are so many people to love here with the love of Jesus. Okay dinner's ready now. Bye bye ^^

Just letting you know that this Sunday at 12:30 is the Honduras Youth Missions Lunch (in Central Pres. Church's dining room) and me and Alex (and Joe and Melanie for that matter)will be talking about our Honduras experiences and about God's work in our hearts/lives and it's going to be an awesome time. And did I mention lunch is free? Look, I even posted a picture of myself with a sandwich in my mouth to make you hungry. Is it working?
Anyway, swing by if you're interested!
